A WORD OF EXPLANATION, 2023

There are three people named Adam Niklewicz.
One is a firefighter living in Łomża, Poland and the remaining two reside in the U.S.

I am who I am, and the other Adam Niklewicz is an illustrator. Some details of our lives happen to be remarkably similar. We both emigrated from Poland, settled on the East Coast, and we’re both active in the general field of visual arts.

It is apparent that the Internet created a confusing blend out of our separate lives. It’s less than nuanced approach (Google is helpless with the fact, that Adam Niklewicz, the illustrator is a right-handed individual, while I am a left-handed one, etc.) made us feel a bit threatened by each other’s presence. We mutually decided to go the way of explanation and this statement is aimed at undoing the unwanted fusion.

We also considered the possibility of a future two-person show to examine the basic difference between two creatives who happen to share a name.

The firefighter stays out of the picture.
